Via Change for America: Only the Grassroots Can Save The Democratic Party.
A good read, with some advice the Democratic Party could have heeded before they lost the election, had they been listening, because this is not the first time these criticisms have been made. However, don't expect the "experts" in Wasington to be listening to advice anytime soon, for it is in the nature of top-down organizational structures to turn a deaf ear to ideas emanating from the people. "The problem for Democrats," says Joe Trippi, "is not Mr. Rove; it is that they're doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. That's the definition of insanity."
With this in mind, the whole notion of the grassroots saving the Democratic "Party" leaves me uninspired. Will we spend the next four years knocking ourselves out to save the party? Isn't this the same old, same old, all over again? The grassroots movement can set its ambitions much higher than saving a party. It can dare to be audacious and aspire to save democracy.
