When I began blogging back in June, I promised myself that once the summer was over I would direct my attention to the project I started with Democracy for California. Well, that time has come.
As I prepare to make the leap in a new direction, the subject of my posts will probably become more random, i.e., less focused on politics, at least not in the conventional sense. There is a method to this madness. Hopefully this will become clear as time goes on. Like everyone in the political sphere, my focus has been on the problems, and while identifying problems is an integral part of finding solutions, and indeed that's what problem-solving is really about, I want to bring more emphasis to the solutions.
If anyone would like to guest blog during this period of transition, just write me a note in comments. I'd be more than happy to open this platform to two or three other voices. As a matter of fact, it was never my intention for this blog to be mine exclusively. I want it to be part of a developing community for DFC, a collaborative effort with other progressive-minded people who share similar goals and aspirations of helping ideas grow and democracy flourish.
So step up if you have something you want to say to the world. Not that the world is listening, not yet anyway, but this should not discourage any of us from excersizing our right to give voice to our passions and ideas. Let them fly into the blogosphere -- and who knows, perhaps they'll find their own flock.
