Sad Days In America

It's a sad day in America when a soldier has to fear reprisals against his family for doing the honorable thing:

The family of the U.S. soldier who first exposed the abuse of Iraqi detainees at Abu Ghraib prison said on Monday they were living in protective custody because of death threats against them.
Military police officer Staff Sgt. Joseph Darby alerted U.S. Army investigators about the abuses done by fellow soldiers to Iraqi detainees at Abu Ghraib prison, a move his wife says has angered people in their community in western Maryland.

"People were mean, saying he was a walking dead man, he was walking around with a bull's eye on his head. It was scary," said Bernadette Darby from Corriganville, Maryland.

It's a sad day in America when a citizen is fired from his job for excersizing his right to criticize the government:
